SIDDHA CAMP

               Siddha training camp conducted by TMK on 11.11.2010 to 16.11.2010 at kattan kollathur.

              Seventeen M.Sc Botany students participated from  S.D.N.B.Vaishnava college  for women chromepet.

              Aim of the training is to know about Siddha, funda mental of siddha, plant identification, medicinal uses of herbs , resear- ch  opportunities, simple home remedies  and pharmacology.

  One day field exposure visit to IMPCOPS adayar.To know about different type of        machineries used in the preparation of siddha medicine.

MEDICINE PREPERATION

        SIiddha medicine preparation is one among the routine activity of TMK.In the siddha system of medicine the doctors has to prepare the medicine depending upon the individual patients disease. So doctor has to be an expert in  preparing the medicine.

         This system consist of  32 type of internal medicine and 32 type of external medicine’s.

Specialty of Siddha physician is that  they use not only herbs but also metals ,minerals and animal products in their medicine preparations.The process of purifying  metals and minerals is important before preparing a parpam and chenduram. In this aspect TMK trains their student on every Sunday.

KNOW ABOUT HERBS : Aloe vera

       Aloe vera extracts may be useful in the treatment of wound and burn healing, minor skin infections, sebaceous cyst, diabetes  and  elevated  blood lipids in humans.These positive effects are thought to be due to the presence of compounds such as polysaccharides mannans, anthroquinones and pectins.
